Bans
A ban stops someone entering your games. The handler checks every join against your ban list and removes banned players.
Bans can be issued from the dashboard or in-game with /ban. Each carries a reason and who issued it. Unbanning is a separate, recorded action rather than a deletion, so the history survives.
If Discord ban syncing is on, bans can propagate to your Discord server.
Blacklists
A blacklist is broader than a ban — it is a list of people who should not be admitted in the first place. It is checked on join alongside bans and can be managed with /blacklist.
The logbook
The logbook is the written record attached to a person: promotions, warnings, commendations, notes.
Entries can require acknowledgement, which means the person has to open and confirm they have read it. That is the difference between telling someone and being able to show you told them.
Notices
Notices are workspace-wide statements — a suspension, a leave of absence, a formal warning — that appear on the person's profile and can affect what quotas expect from them.
Who can do what
All of this is permission-gated. Settings → Access → Custom roles decides who can issue bans, manage blacklists, write logbook entries or acknowledge on someone's behalf.
Give the ban permissions deliberately. They are the ones with consequences outside Evalyn.
